It’s Travel Time

If you love to travel, you’re going to love PBS Western Reserve in April. No need to pack your bags; we’ll cover a lot of ground while you relax at home.

Our first stop is London as we check into THE SAVOY in London. It’s the world’s oldest and most luxurious hotel. And it just had a $100 million facelift so it’s even more glorious than ever before. See how they pamper their guests and make everyone feel like royalty. Check out the four-part series beginning Friday, April 7, at 9 PM on PBS Western Reserve.

From there, we’re off to Scotland with the perfect pair of tour guides. Miriam Margolyes and Alan Cumming show us their homeland while touring the backroads in a mobile home. (OK, it’s not The Savoy, but look whom you’re traveling with.)  From Glasgow to the highlands and beyond, see Scotland like you never have with the three-part series MIRIAM AND ALAN: LOST IN SCOTLAND beginning Friday, April 7, at 10 PM.

Finally, we meet THE TRAVELLING AUCTIONEERS. Will Kirk and Christina Trevanion wander across the United Kingdom looking for unique antiques to restore and sell at auction. It’s like ANTIQUES ROADSHOW on wheels. In fact, you can see it right after Roadshow on Mondays at 9 PM starting April 10.

All you need to pack is … nothing. Just sit back and let PBS Western Reserve handle all the details of your U.K. adventure. These and all our programs are possible with the support of people just like you. If you’re already a member, thanks! If not, donate and get all the benefits of membership—plus the good feeling of knowing you’re supporting a valuable community resource: PBS Western Reserve.

Steve creates the PBS Western Reserve television schedules. Long before finding great programs for you to watch he was a radio DJ. He and his wife are avid travelers, preferring unusual vacation spots such as Cuba and Budapest and sailing across the Atlantic (on an ocean liner, not a sailboat). Tops on his list of famous people he’s met is Fred Rogers. A close second is Mick Jagger or maybe Elton John. His favorite PBS show is “Sherlock Holmes” with Jeremy Brett. Or with Benedict Cumberbatch. It’s a toss-up, he says. Either way, he loves looking for new and interesting programs to share with you.
