Sinatra in Concert at Royal Festival Hall
Wednesday, Aug. 25, at 9:30 PM
SINATRA IN CONCERT AT ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL offers a non-stop lineup of the musician’s acclaimed hits. From “You Make Me Feel So Young” and “My Kind of Town” to “Pennies From Heaven” and “My Way,” this performance from the vaults will capture the hearts of Sinatra fans and beyond.
Filmed at London’s famous Royal Festival Hall on November 16, 1970, the concert captures Sinatra in peak form just prior to his first “retirement” in 1971. The program begins with three up-tempo numbers, and then showcases Sinatra’s softer side with a moving rendition of George Harrison’s “Something”—proving his mastery at making songs his own. Additional songs of love and loss include the heart-breaking “I Get Along Without You Very Well” and songwriter Jimmy Webb’s “Didn’t We.” Sinatra sings these songs with an ache and sadness that is palpable.
