Lawrence Welk and his great orchestra, from the television show in the ‘70s and early ‘80s, plays the music of the Big Band Era and salutes legendary friends, including Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Woody Herman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and others. The Welk Musical Family sings classic Big Band songs and dances to the infectious rhythms of the ‘20s, ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s. The program includes performances of 20 full songs from many programs rarely, if ever, seen on the weekly series.
