Shredded Chicken Sandwich

You’ve probably been served a shredded chicken sandwich at a potluck or a concession stand, but did you know the hot shredded chicken sandwich is almost impossible to find outside of Ohio? The exact origins are hard to pin down, but Ohioans can attest to its limited availability across state lines.

Hot Shredded Chicken Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 1 (3 pound) chicken - cooked, deboned and shredded
  • 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ¼ (16 ounce) package buttery round crackers, crushed
  • ½ teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 12 hamburger buns

 

Directions

  1. Combine shredded chicken, condensed soup, crushed crackers, and poultry seasoning in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until mixture is hot, 15 to 20 minutes. Serve warm on buns.
